New Notification Method for 2008 BMWED Vacation Scheduling
2007-11-29
Starting in December 2007, BMWED employees will be getting a phone call to advise them of their 2008 vacation schedule. The phone call will be made to their phone number of record. For now, they will also receive a letter; but in the future, the phone call notification of scheduled vacations will replace letters. This new automated phone call system will also be used for notification of any 2008 vacation changes.
Vacation information for scheduled employees will continue to be available on the Timekeeping IVR, the Engineering Online Connection and on Employee Self Service.
The phone message will state "This is BNSF calling for EMPLOYEE NAME." Then the following options will be available:
· If the employee answers, he/she can select Option 1 to hear the notification,
· If someone else answers and the employee is available, they can select Option 2 and put the employee on the phone,
· If someone else answers and the employee is not available, Option 3 will prompt the system to place another call at a later time,
· If an answering machine answers, the only message left will be "This is BNSF calling for EMPLOYEE NAME."
Employees must keep correct phone numbers on file with BNSF. This will enable prompt notification and ensure calls are not made to incorrect or outdated phone contacts. Employee phone numbers can be changed or added by Engineering Online Connection, Employee Self Service, or calling your Manpower Planner.
The Outbound Notification system will not call any emergency numbers that the employee has listed in addition to his or her phone number of record.
