BNSF Employees in Gillette, Wyo., Take One of Three Top Prizes in City Parade

Powder River Division employees and their families gathered on Saturday morning, Dec. 6, to decorate a boom truck and trailer for the city of Gillette Christmas Parade; at the end of the day, the entry received one of three first-place prizes.

Breakfast was cooked for participants at the Maintenance of Way facilities to kick off the decorating activities. The parade started at 5 p.m., with employees’ children of all ages riding on the trailer dressed as Santa’s helpers. The children were also equipped with wooden train whistles to provide some holiday cheer. Adult “helpers” walked alongside the trailer and decorated boom truck dispensing candy canes to the children in the audience. The BNSF entry brought smiles all around and was well-received by the community, employees and their families.
